How the Program WorksScrip is really a gift certificate or pre-paid card that can be used just like cash at the retailer named on the document. These are sold to Saint Albert at a discounted rate. This discounted rate is from 2% to 25%. Saint Albert sells them to people at face value. Saint Albert splits the discount between the school's operating budget and where ever the person buying the scrip designates on their registration form. This can be for a student's tuition or to a parish. There are over 200 retailers who sell scrip to Saint Albert. There are no fees to buy scrip. The Scrip order form shows the amount of the discount the retailer gives to the school. You need to sign up by first completing the registration form to inform Saint Albert where you want half of the discount to be applied. You only need to do this once. Second, create an online scrip account following the instructions below.
How To OrderOrders must be placed by Monday at noon, and your order will be available the following Friday. Orders may be placed online or with Natalie Burkey, the Scrip Coordinator, at (712) 329-9000. Testimonials From Scrip UsersFrom Marty Shudak, Saint Albert parent and Foundation Board member: "As a member of the St. Albert Foundation Board, I've learned that one of our most important tasks is to find and develop the best revenue-generating activities possible. As eveyone knows, a Catholic school relies heavily on fundraising activities as a vital way to enhance and improve the many excellent programs and opportunities afforded to our kids. The Scrip program is one such activity that has tremendous potential if everyone gets involved. I would encourage everyone not currently involved in the program to simply purchase their weekly groceries and gas with Scrip. When they see how easy it is to order, pick up, and use in the stores and restaurants, they will likely expand their use of Scrip to all the other non-routine purchases they make over the course of a month, season, or year."
