COLLEGE PREPARATION

At Saint Albert, we encourage our students to strive for excellence in academics, extracurriculars and enrichment programs. In addition to providing college credit courses and a college preparatory curriculum, Saint Albert also helps students with the college application process, ACT and National Merit Scholarship preparation, and the financial aid and scholarship process.

Saint Albert Catholic Schools offers a high quality Catholic education to its students to prepare them for college and their careers. At Saint Albert, 96% of our graduates pursue higher education (five year average) after high school graduation.

The Class of 2012 had 48 graduates and was offered scholarships in excess of $1 million. Over 30% of seniors scored a 25 or higher on their ACTs. All of the 2012 graduates intend to pursue higher education and were accepted to over 50 colleges and universities.

To help prepare our students for college and their careers, we encourage students to begin taking the ACT as early as their freshman year. Saint Albert also encourages students to take the PSAT. The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a program co-sponsored by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation. It's a standardized test that provides firsthand practice for the SAT. It also gives you a chance to enter NMSC scholarship programs and gain access to college and career planning tools.

Mrs. Konnie Schechinger, the 7-12th grade guidance counselor, assists students with the PSAT, ACT, and college prep. If you have any additional question, please contact Mrs. Schechinger.
